Inaugural WALK4PROSTATECANCER 5K set for Sept. 29 in Lewes
The inaugural Walk4ProstateCancer 5K fundraising event will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Cape Henlopen State Park (15099 Cape Henlopen Dr, Lewes, DE 19958). Registration for the walk begins at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. To register for the event, go to https://walk4prostatecancer.org Online registration closes on Monday, September 22 at midnight.
A portion of the registration fee supports prostate cancer patients and their families through the Delaware Prostate Cancer Coalition.
Participants of all ages are permitted; however, they must be registered. Pets are permitted as well; however, they must be on a leash. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate attire During this year’s event, in addition to screenings and health information, you can expect to enjoy music performances and other fun activities.
Sponsored by Draper Media, the Walk4ProstateCancer 5K is being led by Chief Meteorologist Paul Williams. Serving as the Grand Marshal of Walk4ProstateCancer, Mr. Williams is a prostate cancer survivor who is committed to promoting a comprehensive lifestyle regimen that will help men prevent a diagnosis or recovery following treatment for prostate cancer.
